Spring Suit

Top: Zara // Blazer and Skirt: H&M // Clutch, Shoes, Sunnies: H&M // Jewelry: Banana Republic, Mango, H&M, Vintage

Welcoming Monday with my spring suit. Pairing shades of blues; mixing abstract and cutout. I got this satin cutout skirt a while ago and it remains my favorite spring item. Love the length, the fit, the color, the style -- pretty much everything about it. This blue outfit really chased away the Monday blues :)

DressPants

I am loving this idea of pairing a dress with skinny pants. I absolutely love it because I can now wear dresses without being caught cold in bare legs. Plus, no more worries with sticky clingy leggings. What do you think of this styling? Here are some pictures from Fall 2014 runways ... and a few more.

Coveting now....baby doll dress, swing dress, shift dress, straight dress -- just a few of the many names for this iconic simple loose cut dress. Wear them like Deneuve, Birkin or Hardy. Or like in the runways of Stella, Haider, Dior. Perfect for lazy casual spring days...

Home H&M Style

DomaineHome just recently featured the 1920s Stockholm apartment of H&M's Home head of design, Evelina Kravaev-Söderberg. I am so head over heels with it that I decided to share with you some of my favorite rooms. I love how this apartment has an updated look and still honors the period interiors. Period things such as the vintage fireplace, the built in floor heater and the hardwood floor blend beautifully with modern minimalist design and yet still ground the apartment. There is also an element of high and low. The bathroom towels are from H&M Home. Have you spotted anything else? To me, tis is home sweet home.

Trenched Out

Trench Coat and Sweater: H&M // Slip Dress: Zara // Boots: Wanted // Sunnies and Bag: H&M // Jewelry: Forever 21, H&M, Mango, Vintage

Light off-white trench coat is my favorite staple this Spring. I love how versatile it is. I can wear it with almost anything. It is non bulky and gives just the right amount of layering -- perfect for San Francisco weather. Yesterday, I paired it with my slip dress which I wore under my slouchy deep V-neck sweater. I finished it off with my sturdy ankle boots. This outfit got me through running Sunday errands, brunch and a beautiful afternoon stroll by the beach. Hope you had a great weekend. Happy Monday.

Melon and Mural

Coat, Clutch and Sunnies: H&M // Blouse and Shoes: Zara // Jeans: Old Navy // Belt: Target // Jewelry: H&M, Mango, Forever 21, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Vintage

I wear melon today to preliminarily welcome Spring, which will officially be here in 3 days. Do we have a countdown yet? I am loving the warm sunny weather and the long days. It means more time to get more things done. In that spirit, I paired my oversize coat with my slouchy boyfriend jeans to run errands around town.

I passed by this beautiful mural so often and thought I'd share it with all of you today. I figure it matches my colorful outfit. A little bit of history - this beautiful mural consists of 5 panels which are 25′ high and approximately 90′ across. It was designed by Louis Macouillard and set by Alphonso Pardinas in glass tile in the 1960s. The mural tells the story of A.P. Giannini, the founder of Bank of America, then known as Bank of Italy, and the Bank's early days. Construction is one of the industry the bank serves. So here I am, posing with this gentleman in yellow safety hat. I also found more story on the mural from an eBay collector. Click here if you're also a history junkie like me :)

SXSW Style

SXSW is happening now. I love the vibrancy of the event. It's where music, film and technology collide. It's also where stylish people show off their creative flair by way of their outfits. As a result, you see a myriad of styles including the grunge, the romantic, the whimsical and the quirky. Here is a roundup of my favorite SXSW styles, some from past SXSW and some from just a few days ago. Tell me, do you prefer the simple chic style or more of the colorful bohemian styles?

Leopard and Leather

Crop Top: Zara // Faux Leather Midi Skirt (old), Clutch: H&M // Shoes (old) and Belt (old): Ecote // Jewelry: Forever 21, H&M, Mango, Banana Republic // Sunglasses (old): Loehmann

It's a hump day today. I am wearing my leopard crop top with midi faux leather skirt. I chose shades of brown and a bright pop of orangy red as my color palette. I am also wearing my favorite straw woven brogues which I got from my sister. She found them a half size too big for her. Lucky me to have a stylish sister with a great taste. I trust this comfy outfit will carry me through the hump day -- while weekend is just around the corner. Happy Hump Day to you too :)

Dreaming Celine's Accessories

Counting down to Spring. It will officially be here in 9 days. I can't wait for warmer weather ahead. With that, it's also time for Spring cleaning my closet. Time to reshuffle my Fall/Winter outfit to make room for breezy tops and Spring dresses. In the meantime, I am coveting Celine Spring/Summer accessories. I love Celine's new twist on chunky oversize jewelry with geometric shape and bold colors. They are such statement pieces and would brighten up any outfit.

Quietude

Fall 2014 Fashion Week concluded last week. I am inspired by the quiet sophistication from some of the collections. Clean and tailored lines -- simple but yet impactful. Particularly, I love three-piece outfit i.e. top+bottom+coat combo which is perfect for layering in San Francisco's fickle weather. They are also Monday-appropriate. Here's to a great start of the week. Some of my favorites below:

Suede Meet Shearling

Faux Shearling Jacket and Beanie, Blouse, Sunglasses, Faux Leather Pants, Jewelries: H&M // Bag: Old Navy // Boots: Crown Vintage

Feeling brown and beige today so I donned my faux suede shearling jacket. They say neutral color combinations make you feel calm, centered and grounded. Perhaps that is just what I need today after such a hectic week. Some side story: I actually got the beanie last year without the jacket. So, when I saw a matching jacket few weeks ago, I couldn't say no... It's Friday. Time to chill out. I hope you've had a great week.

Graphic Fun

Skirt and Round Sunnies: Peter Pilotto x Target // Sweater and Clutch: H&M // Jewelry: H&M, Forever 21 // Shoes: Nine West

I know I know it's long overdue. I am now finally wearing the pieces that I got from my Peter Pilotto x Target shopping haul. The graphic skirt and the sunglasses are among the items that were in my wishlist. Other than the skirt and the sunglasses, I was glad that I snatched a few other things that I could mix and match and use for different occasions. This skirt is my favorite because it is made of textured crepe fabric and I absolutely love the geometric print and the asymmetrical wrap design. And how could I not love these sunglasses. They go with the skirt and are a fun add to any black or white outfit. I normally do not wear bold prints. However, I find that fun graphic lifted my mood and made me feel 'bold'er in today's grey murky weather. I will for sure be wearing more of Peter Piloto's pieces. Stay tuned!

My Top 5 Oscars Red Carpet Looks

Like most of you, I spent my Sunday night tuning to the Oscars. There are so many great movies I want to watch now. In the meantime, there were also so many great star-studded red carpet styles. I picked my top 5 favorites from last night.

Cate Blanchett won Best Actress for her performance in Blue Jasmine. She walked down the red carpet and took the Oscar in her stunning Armani Prive dress and Chopard earrings. There were two speeches that I was really inspired by at the Oscars. Hers is one of them. She made a strong statement about women in films: "Films with women as the main characters are not niche, and in fact, they make money!" Not only was she a talented actress, she has a great style and is just a classy inspiring woman.

Jennifer Lawrence looks radiant in her orangy-red Dior couture dress and Neil Lane diamond necklace. Not a surprise given that her contract with Dior was extended. What I am surprised about is, like last year, she tripped again in her floor length dress(!). I love Jennifer Lawrence. She is so real and down to earth. She seems like someone that you can just talk to. With that, I feel for her. It's not easy to walk in sky high heels and tight floor length dress. Perhaps Dior should try a different design for Jennifer Lawrence next year?

Lupita Nyong'O donned a Grecian goddess look in this sky blue drapey Prada gown to her first Oscars. Her Fred Leighton diamond and gold headband added just the right hint of sparkle. She won best supporting actress and delivers a beautiful and emotional speech. She ended by saying "No matter where you come from, your dream is valid." I am looking forward to seeing her next movies.

Anne Hathaway is glistening in her Gucci dress. This silhouette is very similar to the 'controversial' Prada dress that she wore to last year's Oscar. However, this year, the dress is party in the front instead of party at the back like last year. And I have to say this Gucci dress fits her much better than then Prada dress. This dress shimmers in the dark. It was brought to life when she came to present at the stage especially when all lights were on her. It was so surreal to look at.

Charlize Theron won me with her Dior dress and $15mm flawless Harry Winston diamond necklace. I absolutely love the low plunging neckline and the sheer details, both at the straps and the bottom of the dress. Her smokey eyes added the right amount of drama to her all-black look. To me, this is a classic chic red carpet look with a modern twist.

What about you? Which ones are your favorite red carpet looks?
